Too empty to cry,
So lonely I've died.
All the years flown by.
Looking back
I remember their faces;
All the rejections,
And misplaced conceptions.
The one thing I have,
Is knowing that I tried.
Here is my wight flag
Goodbye.

Feral
Stepping away from what I know,
Biting and clawing my way back.
Prying away from the pack.
One small step from being stray,
Another leap and back home I'll get.

Fighting The Beast
Fighting the beast
Is like fighting your shadow.
You try to escape it
Hardly seeming probable.
In every light
It tarries in toe.
With every effort to cut it,
It only seems to grow.

Drive-In
You pull into the parking lot,
And plug the speakers in.
Change out the reel,
And the movie begins.
What pictures flood the screens,
Are they scenes in shambles?
Who plays the lead,
And whats the subject matter?
Take hold the directors chair,
And edit as you please.
Making sure the hero,
Avoids the deleted scenes.

Sanitarium In My Head
I run a sanitarium
In the deepest reaches of my head
Where I am
Doctor, Patient, Nurse and Friend.
Self sustained
By dreams without end.

Never Ending Swallow
Perhaps the hardest lesson
We are ever faced to learn
Is written on this paper;
Curtsied by verse.
However long we live
We mustn't give up.
Drink up life in a never ending swallow,
Never lowering the cup.
Curse at contentment
And rejoice in knowing of a tomorrow.

Hero
Have you ever dreamed of being a hero,
A caped crusader, a masked man?
Well chin up,
--And need it not be chiseled.
There is no need for the strength of ten men.
Or flying a fancy jet.
Simply put your pants on,
And be a man.

Tabled Heart
Your heart is on the table
And quarries begin to assault.
An enigma wrapped in a shadow
Fortified with walls
Which layer do I start with
The outer or shoot for it all?
However far the penetration
When you recast leave me on the inside.

Sands Of Love
How many grains of sand are left?
Is it measured by hourglass,
Or the Sahara's relentless quest?
All the beaches the world 'round?
Or for some
Simply never found.

Last Breath Shut Down
To shut down shop
You start with the lights,
You would lock the doors,
And sweep for mites.
To shut down a man
Is far more intricately planned,
For several systems make him stand.
Take his heart and whats in his head.
Without these governing two
--His fate certain death.
But be gentle and systematic
In taming the lad
For like a frog,
He is not easily had.

Hyper-Extended Heart
After being pulled and twisted
And far too stretched;
My poor heart could use a rest.
A special brace,
By the name of love,
Could cure such an ailment
As hyper extended love.
But do be careful
And not too tight.
For like a glove it should fit just right.

Just Being You
Just being you brings a brightness to my day;
In the way you say hello,
Or in a how was your day;
--Just being you chases the darkness away.
The way your hair falls,
Or your body as it sways;
Just being you brings a smile to my face.
So don't stop in front of the mirror
And ask it what to change;
Keep you how you are,
Let your quarks stay the same.
--And most importantly let imperfection remain.

In Your Eyes
Oh that my eyes were shut
And sheltered from your beautiful eyes.
What messages spanned the nakedness
And heartstrings burned with life.
Kidnapped by the moment,
Help captive by a deeper love
Feelings caged by inaction
But tempted to rise above.

Dead Star Light
Long ago a star was born
In every galaxy its light was shown.
And one day, millenia now past,
A space woman set course
For the light source these galaxies had.
As she shuttled nearer
Her fear began to brim
Her arrival too late,
And the star was dim.

Control Room
Behind me stands an ominous web
Made of intricately wired threads.
While in front of me sits with blaring glow,
Two computers for the puppeteers control.

Caught in your eyes
Was the sentence to my heart.
A jail full of life and beauty.
--A prisoner happy to be a part.
Each day a hope for solitary,
Each day a fear of release.
Please grant me a life sentence,
Oh how happy I would be!

Unappreciated Treasure
Whether left to weather
Or left to collect dust,
An unwanted treasure
Is still a treasure to some.
New or old,
Broken and fractured;
The pricelessness
Outlasts its captor.

Juliet My Tragedy
Is Juliet my tragedy?
My predetermined friend?
I meet you in my slumber
And when I awaken
My wounds unmend.
How many strings must dangle;
Life's amusement a lonely man.
Where's my flag to hoist,
To surrender while I can.

Seasons Of Heart
Springs warm breath comes to awaken the frosty sleep
Begging life to renew the streams flow free.
But beware the floods
Too halcyon to see.
An unprotected bank
Will leave a scar for millenia to see
--Bringing again the frosty sleep.

Oh Weary Heart
Oh weary heart,
Will time ever mend?
Or will deaths cold hands
Painfully lull you to bed;
Without the blanket of numbness
To sulk your head.
No rest nor refuge from
Being killed over and over again.

Tenderness caught in her voice
As the words materialized in my ear.
Truths serum breaking through,
And bringing to light what is true.
Maybe just a moment,
Maybe somewhere still true;
But how I long for that instant.

Majestic Eagle
I came across a grounded eagle
Not far from his nest.
I asked: "What's the matter?"
And he puffed out his chest;
"My wings been broken,
I'm a terrible mess."
"So I walk this path til my wing no longer bent,
And soon I'll be circling above the rest."

Ode To The Song Bird
Ode to the song bird
With puffed out chest,
Singing a lullaby
To a full and thriving nest.
Ode to the song bird
The nest now gone
Life no great tragedy,
And still carries on.
Ode to the song bird
With broken wing
Writhing in pain,
And still she sings.
